Can Essential Oils Help With Stress?

Had a bad day?  You are not alone.  Constant stress can rob us of our happiness and adversely affect our physical health.  The upside is there is a solution!  Did you know that essential oils can help relieve anxious feelings?  Our family only use 100% therapeutic grade oils of the highest quality possible.  Please reach out to me if you would like to know which oils we use.

Here are some beautiful oils that can be a wonderful aid in reducing stress and self doubt:

1. Lavender

Considered the most common essential oil, lavender oil benefits include having a calming, relaxing effect. It is considered a nervous system restorative and helps with inner peace, sleep, restlessness, irritability, panic attacks, nervous stomach and general nervous tension.

I like to diffuse it.  Just put 5-6 drops of lavender with water in a diffuser and before you know it the wonderful calming benefits of lavender will fill the room.  I also like to put 2-3 drops in my diffuser necklace and my children like to have it diluted with fractionated coconut oil and rubbed on the bottoms of their feet

2. Vetiver

Vetiver oil has a tranquil, grounding and reassuring energy, often used in trauma helping with self-awareness, calmness and stabilization. A nervous system tonic, it decreases jitteriness and hypersensitivity and is also useful in panic attacks and shock.

This is beautiful blended with lavender too and diffused or rubbed on the back of your neck and bottom of your feet.

3. Frankincense

Frankincense is great for supporting feelings of self doubt and anxious feelings because it provides a calming and tranquil energy as well as spiritual grounding. In aromatherapy, it helps deepen meditation and quiet the mind.

I like to place 1-2 drops under my tongue first thing in the morning and rub a few drops on my temple or neck area to help ease my mind or calm my stress levels.

There are many other oils that may help. But this is a good start for you.  If you use them consistently and correctly I really believe they can help you through those anxious moments and have you smiling again.

4. Wild Orange

Beautiful fresh wild orange – our daughter’s favorite oil and by far one of the most popular oils for helping lift your spirits.  It’s hard to be sad when Wild Orange is around!

This is a beautiful oil to put in the diffuser – 5-6 drops is sufficient.  It blends well with frankincense too.

There are many other oils that may help. But this is a good start for you.  If you use them consistently and correctly I really believe they can help you through those anxious moments and have you smiling again.
